The Story: Once upon a time, Avondale Alabama was little more than a lush forest. Legend has it that a tribe of Native Americans first settled and hunted in this area, drawn by the great spring coming out of what would later be known as Avondale Cave. This spring gushed forth the purest water that could be found for miles. This is why many years later pioneers would settle the area around the very same spring. When the city of Avondale was formed in the 1850's, the main thoroughfare become know as Spring Street, and on this street (now 41st Street) is where you will find the present day home to Avondale Brewing Company.

Spring Street Saison is a Belgian style farmhouse ale. The Saison is our flagship brew that helped spawn the formation of Avondale Brewing Co. Our Saison is brewed with our proprietary house yeast, a 4 malt blend, traditional Slovenian hops and open fermentation. Our unique brewing process along with the combination of the finest ingredients creates a thirst quenching brew with no equal. True to style this unfiltered ale has a coppery golden color and rich malty backbone that creates a unique farmhouse brew. Flavors burst with tropical fruit that combine with hints of spicy and peppery notes that are derived from our house yeast. One sip and you will fall in love. |
